ELLE UK \ How to Dye Dark Hair Lighter

“Would you love beautiful pastel highlights and jewel tones, but want to avoid bleached, porous, split ends?

With a huge range of at-home hair dye and DIY colour treatments available, changing the colour of our hair is as ingrained in our beauty routine as painting our nails.

Colouring really dark hair, however, is not always as easy as it is for our fair-haired sisters. There are enough bleaching horror stories out there to put anyone off trying.

But fear not, because beautiful, pastel-toned highlights are not a million miles out of reach.

We spoke to some top hair experts to understand the different ways to colour your hair and how they can work for you.”

Trend Alert – Eye of the Tiger

Semi -precious crystals and stones have been incorporated into skincare recently due to their healing properties, and now you can see this trend move into hair colour.

The Tigers Eye is a gorgeous stone known for its healing powers, so choosing its shimmery gold and bronze tones for hair can means you can get through winter and the new year by reflecting its positive vibes.

As seen on bloggers and celebrities such as Alexa Chung, Lily Aldridge and Jessica Alba, this look is composed of bronze, gold and dark brown stripes. It can be created using a similar method to balayage where the hair is painted by hand to create subtle highlights to add warmth and dimensions. The Tiger’s Eye look takes a new twist on regular balayage where it borrows the semi-precious stone by adopting the colour of your natural hair colour making it look as subtle as it possibly can instead of the stripes you expect.

At the Limoz Logli we have been creating these looks for our fashion forward clients who want more of a statement to their brown hair.

Now the party season is upon us we teamed up with AQUIS Towels to create some inspiring hair tutorials.

When your hair is wet it is delicate, super stretchy, swollen and in need of some love. This is when the damage occurs that is the root cause of many hair problems such as frizz. It’s important to get it dry fast, but with as little friction as possible. Wrapping in AQUIS (rather than rubbing with regular towels) does just this. See for yourself in our How To Videos.

  • Trend Alert | Non- Touring

    Trend Alert | Non- Touring

The Non-touring makeup trend, which is the opposite of contouring, was huge over summer. Instead of artificially sculpting the face using dark and light shades, it plays with light reflection, so highlighters are used to naturally accentuate the cheekbones and cupids bow, making skin glow, and look naturally dewy.

As makeup trends normally translate into most areas of the beauty world, non-touring is the next big thing in hair – and just like makeup, it’s all about glossy, natural looking, and super shiny hair.

Hair non-touring, like makeup, is achieved using highlights and lowlights to flatter the face; so therefore, non-touring is a low maintenance, fresher, and more natural approach, focusing on shine.

By meticulously coating the hair with a gloss it will instantly to add some depth and act like a natural pick me up; this is a quick trick to give colour some extra shine.

The glosses correct shades only, they cannot lift, or change colour permanently. They are a great way to keep hair looking fresh and shiny in between highlights, or to accentuate natural colour, and can be applied all over, or just at the ends.

    Limoz Logli says –

“At Limoz Logli, we are continuously keeping up with the hair trends of our stylish customers. Each job is bespoke as we tailor the approach to the customers face shape and find the most flattering shape. By applying glosses to specific areas of the hair, you can alter the look, and this is done in a completely natural way”

  • SS17 Hair Trends

    SS17 Hair Trends

Fresh off the catwalks from Fashion Week, hair trends were the talk of the town for SS17. Braids, The Low Pony Tail and Sleek and Smooth were featured on and off the catwalks as designers Victoria Beckham, Alice & Olivia and Lanvin showcased their latest looks. Limoz Logli explains how to create catwalks styles.

SS17 Lanvin - the low ponytail

SS17 Lanvin – the low ponytail

    The Low Pony Tail:

The elegant low ponytail ruled the runway, repeatedly seen held back with black ribbon or simple hair ties. Limoz says, ‘Why not give your ponytail a bit of edge, by using a soft leather belt to secure around your hair tie; letting the belt end hang loose next to your ponytail. Remember to keep pony tail at the nape of the neck. It’s what makes this style feel modern.’

SS17 Alice and Olivia - Braids

SS17 Alice and Olivia – Braids

Braids are here to stay for SS17. One length hair suits braids best and this is a very easy way to get an effortless undone feel. Limoz says, ‘Dampen the hair to give it a slightly airy appearance blow-dry or leave to dry naturally. Tease the hair near the roots to add texture and volume. Part your hair down the centre, and then working on one section at a time create an inverted fishtail braid. Leave a small side section of your hair out of the braid and tong it to give the whole look a really textural look. I recommend using Ouai Texturising Hair Spray to hold the braid in place’.

Victoria Beckham - Sleek & Smooth

    Sleek and Smooth:

Slick and Sleek stole the shows this season. To replicate the looks seen on Victoria Beckham models, Limoz says,

’Apply a styling mousse onto wet hair, this will ensure the cuticles remain smooth when you apply heat. Create a clean centre parting with a pintail comb and always aim your hair dryer down towards the ends of the hair using a non-

ceramic bristle brush. For unruly hair run your straighteners gently through the length of the hair. Use a finishing spray to create a glossy look. To finish off Limoz recommends neatly tucking the hair behind the ears and use a finishing crème such as Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream to make sure it stays smoothed to your scalp all day.’

The off-duty ‘perfectly undone hair’ style was in rotation on the SS17 runway. As seen on the catwalks of Rag & Bone, Prabal Gurung and Vera Wang models sported high textured, effortless yet stylish hair. The perfectly undone mane screams bedhead beautiful with a touch of texture and definition.

Step into the new season with one of the hottest trends straight off the catwalk and have your own ‘perfectly undone’ hair styled at Limoz Logli.

Limoz Logli says, ‘the ‘undone’ trend is perfect for creating a wavy mane with limited hair damage and with as little effort as possible. Barely there texture is one of the look of the moments right now, it’s simple to recreate and leaves you with a classy yet relaxed style’
